5 inch ZTE U887 enters the low end phablet fray

Hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy Grand, a lower-end Galaxy Note II alternative announced yesterday, ZTE is trotting out a dual-core phablet of its own: the U887. According to Gizchina and the TENAA certification database, the device sports a 5-inch 800 x 480 display and runs a dual-core 1.2GHz MT6577 chip with 512MB of RAM. Its also dual-band for China, sporting support for both TD-SCDMA and GSM networks. Looks-wise, the U887 isnt a far cry from ZTEs higher-end Nubia Z5 -- at least based on the image weve seen -- although it packs a 5-megapixel rear camera rather than the 13MP shooter on the quad-core Z5. As with the upcoming Galaxy Grand, pricing and availability info for the ZTE U887 remains MIA, but thats sure to surface in the coming months.

LG’s Next Flagship the Optimus G Pro Outed by Japanese Carrier

LG is already prepping its next handset, the Optimus G Pro, for launch, even though the Optimus G — the basis for the Google’s Nexus 4 — appeared just five months ago and is still rolling out in 50 new markets.
The Optimus G Pro is slated for an April release date, according to Japanese carrier NT DoCoMo. The company detailed its smartphone lineup, which includes the Optimus G Pro, on Tuesday. It’s remarkable, because LG hasn’t formally announced the phone yet, and the rumor is that won’t happen until Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
According to NT DoCoMo, the Optimus G Pro will feature a 5-inch, 1080-display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage and 4G LTE connectivity. It’ll run Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Since LG hasn’t officially acknowledged the phone’s existence, we don’t know for certain whether it’ll land in the United States. But, the fact the Optimus G is sold here by AT&T and Sprint — and the Nexus 4 has gotten all kinds of critical acclaim — it’s a safe bet the Optimus G Pro will arrive on our shores sometime this year.

The Phone Hold Music Nokias Tube is the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Theres an event on next week. Actually, there are loads. But we have good reason to believe Nokia is going to unveil the oft-discussed Tube handset — a fully touch-controlled music phone — now also known as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be a quad-band 3G handset with HSDPA connectivity, the Series 60 Symbian OS, an 81mm (3.2-inch) 640x480-pixel touch-sensitive screen and a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash. GPS, Wi-Fi and stereo Bluetooth will connect you up, plus theres support for up to 16GB microSD cards, 150MB of internal memory and a top-mounted 3.5mm headphone socket. Itll weigh just over 100g.
Well be honest: although its a high-spec phone, theres nothing new in terms of features under the hood, even though the touchscreen will make these decent specifications more enjoyable. That big, high-res screen will make this one of Nokias best mobile video handsets ever, if not the best, despite being a good year or so behind the rest of the world

OUYA – Thinking way Inside the Box
I probably shouldnt admit it, but I clearly remember our very first video game console. The Magnavox Odyssey. My parents brought it home, and I was mesmerized as it was hooked up to the TV, so many games choices (both Pong and Hockey) and I was able to sit in front of it for hours, with anyone willing to play. It was the beginning of my love affair with technology. Gaming on the TV was always a good time, but it’s about to get better…Check out OUYA, getting ready to change the rules of gaming, and of game developing right back to the way it used to be. OUYA is a world-class controller, console, and interface all bundled up into one beautiful, very inexpensive package. This Android based OPEN system not only allows for tweaking, but encourages it, and better still, it gives developers a home where they can dispense with some of the financial hurdles and publishing fees and get back to making awsome games that folks can play in their living room.
You win, because all the games on it will be free, at least to try, and developers win because it opens the doors for almost anyone to bring a new game to market. No longer do you have to invest in a license or software development kit (SDK or “devkit”) The OUYA is one! Imagine all that power in the palm of your hands. Anything published to Android is fair game on this little cutie, so play games, listen to music, watch videos… need I say more?
With more than 60,000 people behind OUYA, I think its a pretty safe bet we’ll be seeing the little cubes turning up sometime next Spring, so if you’d like to have one, head on over to OUYA.tv and pre-order one, and when you do something really cool with it, I want to be the first to know! Deal?
